TRUST OLDHAM GOING FORWARD
Trust Oldham continues to work with Oldham Athletic and expand its horizons with new events and new fundraising ideas all to help ensure that the future of Oldham Athletic is always secure. The Trust has helped the club with some costs over the last few years. These have included the purchase of a mini-bus in October 2004 which is loaned to the club on an ongoing basis in a donation worth £20,000.
In April 2005 Trust Oldham contributed a further £20,000 towards the signing of Luke Beckett on loan from Sheffield United. And in April 2008 the trust bought a new tractor for the club groundsmen.
Over the course of its existence, Trust Oldham has donated on average £1,000 per month to Oldham Athletic.
Trust Oldham continues to work in partnership with Oldham Athletic football club to raise awareness of the club in the wider community.
Over the past 12 months Trust Oldham has raised over £3500 for local causes including £2500 for The Samantha Jones Trust, £400 Boundary Blues and Supporting Local disadvantaged children with football kit.
By continuing to work with PCT and Oldham Community Trust on matters concerning fans in the wider area, Trust Oldham work to local and government guidelines to ensure the brand of Oldham Athletic is known throughout the local areas.
Each year since 2004, Oldham Athletic has been working towards becoming a self sufficient football club. The current owners known as TTA have structured the club to not rely on cup runs or selling of players to survive. This has been one of the key instructions for the fans representative on the club board to press to the owners on. Barry Owen (Fan Rep) attends each board meeting to highlight concerns and matters of the day directed to him by the Trust and fans.
Within the capacity of Director, the fans rep is integral when the board discuss matters of change that concern the fans. Decisions from pricing of the season ticket, fans match day offers and other fans related issues need to be approached with caution and understanding.
Trust Oldham respect the expense encountered by the club and fans to stage and attend football respectively, having to take all this into account when any price fluctuation is concerned.
In a time of change, Trust Oldham always consider the long term future of the club and base any decisions or approvals on what is best for Oldham Athletic and therefore the fans.
